About the job

OakTruss Group is seeking a polished, high-performing Business Development Partner to drive new business across enterprise and mid-market accounts. This role focuses on selling consulting services, including cybersecurity risk advisory services, AI integration advisory services, vCISO programs, AI adoption security and governance frameworks, security assessments, governance and compliance consulting, penetration testing, and strategic program development.

This position supports the company’s go-to-market strategy around the convergence of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data . The ideal candidate is a proven sales professional who can build strong pipelines, develop executive-level relationships, and close complex service engagements in a competitive, fast-moving market.

This is a high-performance role for someone who has consistently delivered $5M to $10M in annual revenue and understands how to position consulting and advisory services in a way that aligns with client business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage prospecting and lead development to identify new business opportunities across enterprise and mid-market accounts
  • Partner collaboratively with the Client Delivery Team to scope solutions, develop Statements of Work, and close deals
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned annual revenue goals between $5M and $10M
  • Build and maintain a pipeline valued at 3 to 5 times annual quota through disciplined prospecting and account management
  • Develop trusted relationships with C-suite executives, including CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and other business leaders, to position the company as a strategic partner
  • Conduct consultative discovery sessions to uncover client needs and align solutions with business outcomes
  • In collaboration with the Client Delivery Team, deliver tailored proposals, Statements of Work, and executive-level presentations that clearly articulate value
  • Partner with internal consulting, delivery, and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and client solutions
  • Coordinate handoffs to delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction and successful project outcomes
  • Maintain detailed sales activity records and forecasts in CRM systems
  • Stay current on cybersecurity, AI, and data convergence trends, frameworks, and compliance requirements to maintain credibility in client discussions
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and networking opportunities to generate leads and enhance brand awareness

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales
  • 5+ years of experience focused on cybersecurity and/or AI integration consulting or professional services
  • Proven success achieving or exceeding annual revenue targets of $5M to $10M
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity programs, risk management, and compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO, CIS, and SOC 2
  • Track record of closing multi-six-figure and seven-figure consulting engagements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with executive audiences
  • Experience using consultative and solution-based sales methodologies
  • High level of self-motivation, accountability, and pipeline management discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree or cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA preferred

  • Experience selling advisory and consulting services related to cybersecurity, AI integration, and governance
  • Ability to speak credibly about the convergence of cybersecurity, AI, and data in client environments
  • Experience navigating complex buying cycles with multiple executive stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to position the company as a strategic partner
