The Configuration/Change Manager is responsible for managing software configuration baselines, change control processes, and release documentation in support of mission-critical government systems. This role ensures configuration integrity and traceability across the system lifecycle by coordinating change requests, maintaining configuration items, and supporting release planning and audits. The Configuration / Change Manager works closely with development, DevSecOps, testing, and program teams to ensure changes are properly reviewed, approved, documented, and implemented in accordance with program governance and DoD standards.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain software configuration baselines across development, test, and production environments.
  • Administer change control processes, including intake, tracking, review, and approval of change requests.
  • Maintain configuration items (CIs) and documentation in configuration management tools and repositories.
  • Support release planning and execution, ensuring configuration integrity and accurate release documentation.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, code changes, builds, and releases.
  • Coordinate with development, testing, and DevSecOps teams to support version control and deployment activities.
  • Support configuration audits, reviews, and compliance reporting in accordance with program and DoD requirements.
Minimum Education and Qualifications - Journeyman Level:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Required Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in configuration management, change management, or release management.
    • Hands-on experience with version control and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Jira, CMDB, or similar).
    • Experience supporting baseline and release management in Agile or hybrid development environments.
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification.
    • Experience supporting DoD or other federal programs in a cleared environment
