Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Lumber Catcher to support our saw and production operations. This position is responsible for catching, sorting, and stacking cut lumber coming off saw lines to ensure smooth workflow and accurate material preparation for truss assembly.
This is an entry-level position with opportunities for advancement in a growing manufacturing environment.
What You'll DoCatch lumber as it exits saw equipment
Inspect boards for damage, warping, or defects
Sort and stack lumber by size and job specifications
Maintain proper flow of materials to the production team
Keep work area clean and free of debris
Follow all safety guidelines and plant procedures
Assist saw operators and production staff as needed
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs repeatedly throughout shift
Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment
Dependable attendance and positive attitude
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled facility
Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred (not required)

Pay with no experience: $17.50/hr
Pay with roof or floor truss assembly experience is negotiable.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure the proper type and grade of lumber has been used.
Verify accuracy of length, angles, and quality of material from the saw.
Use a framing or speed square to check the cut angles for accuracy.
Stack truss members with proper orientation.
Mark cut members with correct ID.
Secure cut material for movement to material pad.
Assist the sawyers, as needed.
QualificationsAble to read and write in their primary language.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to read or able to learn to read a shop drawing.
