LifeBridge Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Care to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Behavioral Health services. As a regional healthcare organization in Maryland, LifeBridge Health provides a comprehensive continuum of care through hospitals, specialty centers, and community-based programs, and is dedicated to improving health and promoting well-being across diverse communities. In this role, you will provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult and/or adolescent patients experiencing behavioral health conditions, acute psychiatric episodes, and co-occurring medical issues. You will perform thorough behavioral health assessments, including mental status and suicide risk evaluations, develop and implement individualized care plans, and administer medications while closely monitoring therapeutic responses and potential side effects. Using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based approaches, you will employ therapeutic communication, de-escalation, and crisis-intervention techniques to help patients manage symptoms, maintain safety, and progress toward treatment goals. As part of an interdisciplinary team that may include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals, you will collaborate to coordinate comprehensive care, participate in treatment planning meetings, and support safe and effective care transitions and discharge planning. You will educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and available community resources, ensuring they are engaged as partners in the care process. The position requires meticulous documentation in the electronic health record, adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and commitment to patient safety and quality improvement. At LifeBridge Health, you will be part of a culture that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, with strong support for professional development, specialty certification, and career advancement within behavioral health nursing. This full-time role may include a mix of day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, with opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care settings depending on organizational needs. You will work in a hybrid environment across clinical units and coordinated care settings that may include in-person and some telehealth-based patient interactions, supporting LifeBridge Health’s mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services to the communities we serve.
