The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts is accepting applications for single course (one course/term), part-time lecturers (two courses/term) and/or full-time (three courses/term) to teach courses that may occur in the Summer 2026 session, Fall 2026 (August 31, 2026 - January 13, 2027), Spring 2027 (January 14, 2027 - May 30, 2027), or the Summer 2027 session. The Psychology Department occasionally needs lecturers to teach courses that cannot be staffed by regular faculty members or graduate students. This search will establish a “pool” of instructors if such openings occur during the specified time. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Pay range is $6,300-10,000 per course, depending on number of credits and candidate education, qualifications and experience.
Teaching may be for day, evening or online courses. Appointments may or may not be renewable based on need, funding, and performance. Final job offer contingent upon complete background check and receipt of official transcripts.

The Department of Psychology is one of the largest departments within the College of Liberal Arts, and is a highly ranked department nationally. Currently, the department has 46 core faculty, 70+ staff, 140 graduate students, and it supports the largest number of undergraduate majors of any academic program on the UMN Twin Cities campus. Additionally, the department has $40 million or more in active research funding at any given time (the majority from NIH), spread across 70 or more projects.
